Westminster College, the only private, comprehensive liberal arts college in Utah, is proud of its independence.and fiercely committed to student learning. Located where the Wasatch Mountains meet the vibrant city of Salt Lake, Westminster offers a fundamentally different kind of education. While we train our students to be nurses, lawyers, and artists, we go beyond mere professional training. We teach our students to be life-long learners. Here you will have the freedom to explore across disciplines. You will forge mentor relationships with professors, and you will make friendships that last a lifetime. Come to Westminster and you will be welcomed. You will be challenged. And you will thrive. In our small classes, every voice matters. Every student has a chance to excel. At Westminster College , your voice will be heard.

According to the U.S. Department of Education, our four and five year graduation rates are better than any other college or university in the state. In a recent survey, 90% of our graduates reported being employed within 3 months of graduating. U.S.News & World Report , 2006 edition, ranked Westminster for the 11th consecutive year as a top-tier institution. Westminster is one of the nation's best educational values according to the Princeton Review America 's Best Value Colleges: 2007 edition and it was one of only 150 institutions to make the list. In addition, Kaplan/Newsweek's " America 's Hottest Colleges" named Westminster one of the "367 Most Interesting Schools."

We believe these national rankings reflect Westminster 's Core Values:

  • Impassioned teaching and active learning

  • Respect for diverse people and perspectives

  • Collaboration and teamwork

  • Personal and social responsibility

  • College-wide excellence

  • High ethical standards

Campus Life. Westminster 's on-campus social life is as rich and varied as the surrounding urban and wilderness landscapes. In fact, there are so many things happening around here, that we even have a Campus Concierge desk to help you juggle all the possibilities. Student clubs abound at Westminster . They include everything from dance and music to Habitat for Humanity and Jane Goodall's "Roots and Shoots" program. In fact, the renowned primatologist was one of a long line of internationally prominent speakers we have hosted. Because we know that important learning also takes place outside the classroom, we have put in place a variety of cultural, social, and recreational programs that complement our challenging academic work.

Housing. If you live on campus, you will find that the residential halls provide endless opportunities for socializing. Imagine cookouts, luaus, ice cream socials, and volleyball games on the quad, and events such as Super Bowl and Academy Awards parties in lounges furnished with games and big screen TVs. With more than 500 diverse students living on campus, the residence halls provide an abundance of great opportunities for our in-state and out-of-state students to form relationships that will last a lifetime.

Campus Tour. Tour the campus with a current student, sit in on a class, meet our students, and professors, fly in an aviation simulator, go to a play, cheer on the Griffins, and don't forget to try the food!
