Utah Valley University is the key educational center for more than 24,000 students. The campus is nestled between the Wasatch Mountains and Utah Lake and adjacent to Interstate 15. The 8,500 seat David O. McKay Events Center is rapidly becoming the social hub of Utah County . UVU offers short-term training programs, training for high-tech careers, transfer degrees, associate and bachelor degrees. Our college combines the warm environment of a community college, while offering advanced degrees for dynamic industries.   • More than 23,840students attend UVU. Even with this many students, the student-to-faculty ratio is only 20 to 1.

Admissions. UVU has an open-door admissions policy: everyone high school age or older who applies will be admitted. The admission deadlines are, for fall semester, April 15, and for winter semester, December 20. Enrollment into programs is on a first-come, first-served basis. The four-year programs have limited admission and require separate applications. To apply, complete the admissions application online here and mail a $35 application fee, and send high school transcripts. Online orientation is found at www.uvsc.edu/orientation/

Financial Aid and Scholarships . Three types of financial assistance are available: gift aid, which does not have to be repaid, includes grants, scholarships; loans, do have to be repaid; and work study, which provides an hourly wage. The federal financial aid priority deadline is May 1.

UVU offers a comprehensive and varied scholarship program. Scholarships are offered by the college, alumni, and private donors and are awarded on the basis of academic excellence and promise of future achievement. The deadline for scholarship applications is February 1.

Academics. UVU is accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. UVU also has vocational accreditation by the Utah State Office of Vocational Education. UVU takes pride in its 200-plus person faculty. This highly trained group is culturally, ethnically, and philosophically diverse. The staff is proud to support women and minority members who hold such leadership positions as vice president, dean, and department chair.

Campus life. UVU has an active student government. There are more than 80 academic, athletic, special interest, and international clubs coordinated by the Inter-Club Council. The McKay Event Center is the site for numerous concerts. There are also numerous recreational activities in the area surrounding UVU's campus, from fishing and boating to skiing and mountain biking.
