Admissions. A student may apply for admission by submitting an admissions form with a high school transcript, ACT or SAT scores, and a $40 processing fee. The priority admission deadline for fall semester is April 1. Students applying after the deadline will be asked to pay a $15 late fee and will be admitted if space is available. High school graduates with an admissions index of 90, a minimum ACT of 18, and a minimum GPA of 2.5 are automatically accepted. Students with an index below 90 may appeal for provisional admissions. Applicants who do not meet a 18 on ACT are advised to re-take the ACT.

Financial Aid and Scholarships. Although costs at Utah State are moderate, extensive financial aid programs are available: 55% of USU students receive aid in the form of scholarships, grants, loans, and work study. USU will do everything within the limits of its financial aid resources to enable students to meet college expenses. For more information on Financial Aid at Utah State please visit www.usu.edu/finaid. To qualify for grants, loans, or work study, applicants must complete a FAFSA federal aid form. An application for need-based aid should be filed as early as possible; however, applications are accepted year-round.

Scholarships are awarded on the basis of academic performance and achievement. Students who complete the application for admission/scholarship by February 1 will receive priority consideration.

Academics . USU is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges. Utah 's Carnegie Teacher of the Year has been awarded to USU faculty six of the last eight years. Many USU programs including teacher education, engineering, art, instructional technology, accounting, music therapy, and natural resources, are ranked among the top programs in the nation. Students can participate in Honors, undergraduate research opportunities, cooperative education internships, and Air Force and Army ROTC.

Campus Life. USU has a club or organization for nearly every interest, more than 280 in all, from Ballroom Dancing to American Society of Civil Engineers, from the Thai Student Association to Aggie Hockey. The Outdoor Recreation Center provides equipment for students to check out Logan Canyon 's cross-country skiing into a backcountry yurt, rock climbing, hiking, skiing, and kayaking.

Housing. Utah State is a residential campus with many housing options on or near campus: 80% of the students attending USU are living away from home. Students can choose apartment style residence halls with a kitchen, or traditional style rooms with amenities such as Internet access and fitness centers. Purchasing a meal plan offers students maximum flexibility.
