Salt Lake Community College is a comprehensive, mulitcampus community college. With more than 24,000 students, SLCC is Utah 's largest two-year college, and the 13 th largest community college in the country, yet there is a strong emphasis on personalized help and support for each student. The College offers over 100 programs in a wide variety of academic, professional, Career and Technical Education and apprenticeship areas.
Programs are transferable and career-oriented, with many campuses and teaching centers throughout the Salt Lake Valley . Admissions. Most SLCC programs have open admission. To apply, submit an application for admission, $35 application fee, and ACT or CPT scores. Students interested in Health Science programs should contact Enrollment Services for additional information.
Financial Aid and Scholarships. Approximately 65% of students receive some form of financial aid. To apply for grants, loans, and on-campus jobs, fill out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) in the early spring of your senior year of high school.
Scholarship awards are offered for academic achievement, special talents, experience in a field of study, and leadership. Scholarship applications must be submitted by March 1. Most scholarships are one-year tuition waivers. Applications are available from your high school counselor or SLCC's Financial Aid Office.
Academics. SLCC is a vibrant, progressive college offering programs in a wide variety of academic and professional fields. SLCC is fully accredited by the Northwest Commission of Colleges & Universities. The college's business programs also are accredited by the Association of Collegiate Business Schools and Programs. Certificate and degree programs take from six months to two years to complete. Programs available range from Business, Trades and Technology, Service Occupations, Health Sciences, Humanities and Physical and Biological Sciences. Many programs can transfer to four-year universities, both in-state and out-of-state.
Campus life. SLCC has more than 40 active clubs and organizations, from professional development and honors societies to social clubs. Ethnic student clubs, which celebrate and support the cultures of Hispanic, African-American, Asian, Polynesian, and Native American students, are very active. SLCC has both intercollegiate and intramural sports for women and men. Dances, lectures, art shows, plays, concerts, family activities, and community service projects take place on campus every day.
Housing. Although SLCC does not offer on-campus housing, off-campus apartments are readily available near our campuses.
