Dixie State College offers the best education under the sun. Approximately 4,600 students study in our unique programs that offer small classes and a personalized education. Because the quality is high and the cost is low, DSC is an outstanding value. Through both our baccalaureate and associate degree programs students are well prepared to meet their goals. Some go on to graduate school, others transfer, and some move right into their careers.

A recent survey showed that students choose Dixie for three reasons, all having to do with quality: Quality Education, Quality Scholarship Programs, and a Quality Location. 79% of last year's freshman class received financial aid. We're located in St. George, where the average winter temperature is over 55ºF. While students elsewhere are trudging to class through the snow, DSC students are studying outside on the lawn under a palm tree.

Did you know ...

  • Last fall 8 out of 10 freshmen received financial aid that averaged $2584 per student.

  • 94% of the students in applied technology programs (like nursing and dental hygiene) passed their certification and licensing examinations.

  • 47 Sterling Scholars enrolled at DSC last year.

  • The CEO of Black & Decker Corp., Nolan Archibald, a graduate of DSC earned $8.3 million last year.

Admissions. The college welcomes all students, with varying levels of academic preparation (ACT scores in the 30's and in the teens), into programs ranging from honors to remedial or developmental studies. Our students are from diverse educational, ethnic, national, and economic backgrounds. To apply for admissions, complete the admissions application, submit an official high school transcript with ACT, SAT, or CPT scores (for placement purposes only), and pay the $35 application fee.

Financial Aid and Scholarships. Dixie State has a very generous financial aid program which is available to all students. We want to make DSC affordable for you. Most of our scholarships are guaranteed for four years and we participate in all state and federal financial aid programs. To qualify for grants, loans, or work study, applicants should complete a FAFSA form (available in your guidance office or online ( www.fafsa.ed.gov ) as soon as possible. Dixie awards aid to students based on need, as well as academic performance in high school, talent, leadership, and athletics. To apply for an academic scholarship, simply complete the admissions process. There are no extra forms to complete. For leadership, departmental and talent awards, go on-line to http://www.dixie.edu/financial/scholarships/index.php for more information.
